SPP Demonstrator
| The current demonstrator
represents the state of development at the end of phase 1 of the
project. It is a working installation of the portal, with guest
and user account areas. You can login using your Athens username
or you can create a test RDN account. Listed below are a few of
the available features. |

Searching. You can search simultaneously
across various resource collections, as well as various
newsfeeds. All results are presented within the consistent portal
interface. If you have logged in you can also save records and
create search profiles and access your Athens protected
resources. |
| Newsfeeds. You can view
newsfeeds that have been made available from various third party
sources. You can also search across a selection. You can also
display lists of new resources at subject hubs and upcoming
events. If you are logged in you can change the selection and
layout of your newsfeed display. |

Customisation. A logged in user can
customise many portal features. They can select the content and
layout of their portal pages, as well as adding and removing
navigation tabs. |
| Alerting. A registered user
also has access to email alerts. These are created weekly and
based upon the user's choice of subject interests and alerting
sources. |

Please note that this service is only for
demonstration purposes. As such the content does not necessarily
reflect one particular subject hub, nor is it complete. While we
will endevour to retain any configuration changes you might make,
we cannot guarantee it.

Note: at present the demonstrator is password
protected. If you would like to access it please email the
project manager r.russell@ukoln.ac.uk.
Before you access the demonstrator please read the SPP Demonstrator Privacy Statement. This statement explains what data SPP will collect from demonstrator users, why this data is collected and how it will be used.
Once you have read the privacy statement you can access the SPP demonstrator. There is some help
on its use available: please follow the 'help' link towards the
top right.
